Workshop exploring graphical programming to create sound.
DAN WILCOX is an artist, engineer, performer, and musician who combines live musical performance techniques with experimental electronics and software for exploration into themes of science fiction, space travel, cyborgification, and far futurism. Let’s Make Noise with Pure Data is an open source graphical patching environment for multimedia similar to MaxMSP. “Patching” refers to graphical programming where you connect little boxes instead of writing lines of code and mess around with data in real-time. All skill levels are welcome. We’ll go over making basic synthesizers and samplers, culminating with an impromptu concert. Bring a laptop and join the digital sound revolution.
